About the report
Lights, Camera, Capital: Access to Finance for Screen-Based Storytelling Businesses is a new report from Creative UK that investigates the barriers to finance faced by screen businesses across the UK.
Drawing on original research and insight from businesses working in film, TV, games, animation, immersive and CreaTech, the report reveals a sector rich in ambition but held back by a lack of accessible, appropriate investment. With 83% of finance users reporting unmet funding needs and only 24% of businesses considered investment ready, the report makes the case for urgent, system-wide change. It highlights the vital role that business support, investor education and targeted policy reform can play in building a stronger, more resilient screen industry.
